Italy!!!

Well, after many months of waiting here we are leaving the states and heading to Italy. We had a great trip and have so many memories and pictures to remember this trip. We put some of our pictures on here for you to enjoy. I will tell you that those who have watched our video say that they really felt like they went with us. Ricky did a great job of documenting everything. If you would like to watch the raw uncut footage we will oblige you, but if we are all lucky, Ricky will complete the movie that he is making from the footage. I am sure that when he completes it, the movie will inspire everyone to go to Italy. We were awestruck at the beauty and history that we came in contact with. Enjoy! Our first meal with our tour group.

St. Peter's Basilica.

The Colliseum and the forum ruins.

The Pantheon.

The Spanish Castle in Rome.

Pompeii, was fascinating. It was a whole lot bigger and more civilized than we both thought it was. Ask us about the street signage and recreational activities.

Frescos still on the interior walls of some of the homes in Pompeii.

A men's bath house in pompeii. There was marble everywhere.

This is on the Island of Capri. We took the funicolare up to the main street in Capri.
What a cool island!!

We took a drive along the Amalfi Coast to find the city of Amalfi. It must be wonderful in the summer if it was this pretty at the end of winter.

This was above the altar in a Byzantine church built and commissioned by Caesar Augustus. The dome was mosaic tile in mostly 24K gold.

VENICE!!!

St. Mark's Square and the Doges Palace.

We took a Gondola Ride and it was magical!! Sparkling Wine and Serenading!
This is Burano- an island off of Venice that is a small fishing village. The houses as you can see are painted many different and vibrant colors. It was fun to take picture there. We also had a wonderful seafood meal there.

Milan's Duomo Church. It looks like lace. It took 500 years to complete. Finally finished in 1949.

One of Milan's most famous shopping center. Yep... this is a mall. Prada is on the far left corner.

The La Scala Opera house in Milan.

Leaning tour of Pisa. And yes, it leans a lot!

The Duomo of Florence.

Church of San Croce in Florence.

We visited a medieval town that is very much like it was in it's day. It was very quaint and beautiful, perched at the top of a hill right in the heart of Tuscany. Enjoy the views!
